FATool Tool Management

In FATool, tool assemblies are defined as assemblies, for which the characteristics resulting from the actual assembly (length, diameter, projecting lengths, etc.) are administrated. References to the component characteristics and graphics are derived from the parts list.

The 2D/3D tool graphics are automatically generated and depicted via the assembly instructions and component graphics archived under the tool. The assembly instructions are generated with the assistance of standard CAD programs. API integrations are available for:

The 2D/3D tool graphics generated using this method can be prepared or provided directly by FASYS for a wide variety of different CAM and simulation programs.

Characteristics from the component level (diameter, holders, etc.) are shown in a separate view. This view is randomly configurable; the parameters are automatically read and displayed based on the components used. All characteristics in this view can be used as search parameters.

A macro is used to automatically generate the graphic tool sheet from the to-scale tool graphics and the tool as well as component characteristics. This tool sheet provides critical assistance to e.g. the NC programmer, pre-setting technician or machine operator so that the required tool can be provided safely and expeditiously.
